Spring Blouses

A long sleeve blouse is the perfect piece to transition from winter to spring. I am really loving the print blouses this season, but a bold color looks great too. Throw one on with a faux fur vest for a chilly day, or wear with white jeans and platforms as the weather warms up.

'The Roomate' Premiere

Leighton Meester looked absolutely GORGEOUS at her new movie 'The Roomate' premiere last weekend in Los Angeles. I am head over heals for the Michael Kors dress she rocked on the red carpet. It is such a fun way to look appropriate for an evening event, but still edgy.

Wine Country

This past weekend I went home to California and my family and I decided to take a little trip up to the wine country and go to Napa Valley. Napa is a mix of rolling hills and fancy retaurants, which gives it a country-casual yet chic vibe. So how does one dress for a day in the vineyards followed by shopping downtown Napa and eating at some of the best restaurants in the country? I put together an outfit that is similar to what I actually wore up in wine country.

My New Closet!

Last week, I decided to redo my closet (here) so that I could actually see what clothes I own and which pieces I really don't need anymore. It was beyond hard to part with some items, but I powered through and now my closet only has clothes I actually wear. Here are a few photos of what it looks like now. I changed everything onto wood hangers that I got at Ikea, and I LOVE them. Everything looks so nice and clean, instead of the wild mess of hangers I had before. Since I am in an apartment I can't do anything about the ugly white wire racks, but I don't notice them as much now, and eventually I would love to replace the boring ceiling light with a cool chandelier.

Golden Globe Goddess

Award season kicked off with the Golden Globes, and the fashion was fierce. Surprisingly there were only a few fashion victims and A LOT of beautiful gowns that walked down the red carpet. Pink was announced as the color of 2011 and there was definitely a lot of it. Other big colors of the night were emerald green and black, but my favorite look was a glittery ball gown by Marchesa that Olivia Wilde floated down the carpet in. My second favorite dress was a controversial look last night worn by Emma Stone, but I thought she looked A-mazing with her new blonde hair and peach gown by Calvin Klein. And to round out my top three, Mila Kunis rocked this emerald green dress by Vera Wang. I am now obsessed with this color and definitely on the lookout for a cocktail dress in this deep green. The Globes started awards fashion off right and I can't wait to see what the stars wear to the Oscars and the Grammys!

With the weather so cold right now, I have been looking for a cute hat to wear out at night. The perfect way to make your bundled up look a little more chic, is with feminine accessories like this sequin hat by Free People. It is sure to jazz up that plain black coat and keep your ears warm at the same time!

Nude Pumps

I am currently dreaming about nude pumps, specifically these Brian Atwood nude pumps. But until I can afford their price tag of over $500 I found some other great options that are a little more budget friendly.

Brian Atwood 'Maniac' Patent Platform Pumps

Steve Madden 'Russhh' Pump
Aldo 'Destime' Pump
A nude pump is the perfect shoe with almost any outfit, and it will make your legs look even longer and leaner than any other heal because of the nude color. Strut your stuff!

Time for a Change

I had so much fun decorating my apartment this past holiday season, not only because it looked so festive, but because just a few changes here and there let me change the look of my living space. Now that all those decorations have been taken down and neatly stashed away, my apartment is looking a bit bland. I have been trying to figure out what small changes I can make, and I have decided to start in my closet. Closet organization is something we can all use a little help with, but here are a few things I am going to focus on:

1. Purge, Purge, Purge. I know this is hard for many of us (myself included) but it is essential that you only keep what you actually wear. Donate what you don't keep, unless it really just needs to be thrown away.

2. Wood Hangers. I am obsessed with the look of wood hangers. The instantly make your closet look more chic and organized. If you decide to invest in these I promise you wont regret it.

3. Coordinate Items. Once you have gone through everything in your closet and have decided what to keep, coordinate those items either by color or style. I like to coordinate by style, meaning I put all my tanks together, all my sweaters together, all my dresses together, and so on. This really allows you to see what you actually have.

I will post some pictures of what my closet looks like when I am done organizing it, but for now here are some inspirational pictures.
