Eat, Pray, Love

I finally watched the movie Eat, Pray, Love and...I loved it. Mostly I liked seeing the fabulous places Julia Roberts character, Liz, travels to, and all the delicious food she eats in Italy. I am now totally obsessed with the Italian diet. In the movie she eats her way through her time in Italy with delicious looking pastas, breads, wine, and vegetables in olive oil. So you are probably wondering what does this have to do with fashion? And the answer really is, Nothing. However, for so many of us, its hard to imagine enjoying bread, pasta, wine, cheese, and all the delicious Italian foods without thinking about if we are going to fit in our jeans the next day. In the movie, Liz accepts her new "muffin top" (aka jean bulge) and doesn't let it stop her from enjoying all the delicious flavors of Italy, instead, she buys bigger pants. I want to read Eat, Pray, Love now (I'm kind of ashamed to say that I haven't read it yet, since it seemed to be a book that everyone recommended) and I am going to try and take on Liz's outlook and enjoy life and everything in it, even with a few extra pounds from time to time.

Over the Knee Socks

Socks with heels have been a growing trend in the last couple seasons, and I just can't get on board with it. But one sock trend that I am a fan of is the over the knee sock. This take on school girl chic looks the best with knee high boots, so you just see the top of the socks going over the knee. It's a great way to make an outfit a little more trendy. My favorite way to wear this look is with a fun floral dress and a long cardigan over top. Make sure to keep your color scheme neutral with rich ivorys or dark grays. If you don't want to show any leg, you can also try this look over leggings with a sweater dress.

Faux Fur

Today I went shopping with some girlfriends and I found the CUTEST faux fur jacket by Dolce Vita. It is unbelievably soft for a faux fur and its front pockets and slouchy hood are not only adorable, but chic! I can't stop thinking about this jacket, and I just might have to get it. Plus how cute would it be when it starts to snow!? Faux fur is a fun way to change up your winter wardrobe and still stay warm and cozy without wearing the usual black coat.

Style

I just got home to find a package waiting for me with my new book inside and I couldn't be more excited. One of my favorite reality stars/celebrities, Lauren Conrad, has written a book on style, appropriately called "Style" I decided to share this book with all of you because it is a fun read for anyone that can use help with their wardrobe, and lets face it even the most fashionable celebrities rely on their stylist from time to time. The book is a short read and deals with issues such as how to reorganize your closet, pack for a trip, or get out that annoying stain. It also discusses key pieces every woman should own and how to accessorize those pieces. If anything, it is a helpful book to refer back to every once and a while. Enjoy!
