Wine Country

This past weekend I went home to California and my family and I decided to take a little trip up to the wine country and go to Napa Valley. Napa is a mix of rolling hills and fancy retaurants, which gives it a country-casual yet chic vibe. So how does one dress for a day in the vineyards followed by shopping downtown Napa and eating at some of the best restaurants in the country? I put together an outfit that is similar to what I actually wore up in wine country.

Over the Knee Socks

Socks with heels have been a growing trend in the last couple seasons, and I just can't get on board with it. But one sock trend that I am a fan of is the over the knee sock. This take on school girl chic looks the best with knee high boots, so you just see the top of the socks going over the knee. It's a great way to make an outfit a little more trendy. My favorite way to wear this look is with a fun floral dress and a long cardigan over top. Make sure to keep your color scheme neutral with rich ivorys or dark grays. If you don't want to show any leg, you can also try this look over leggings with a sweater dress.

Military Chic

This fall it's all about military inspired duds, and I am loving everything about it. The olive and tans are a great addition to most peoples all-black fall and winter wardrobe. My favorite look is the cargo pants. The ones below are by J Brand, however there are many different versions of them at all different price points. Pair them with a plain white t-shirt and a tan cardigan, or try a striped sweater for a more playful look.
